Do I have to run or walk a specific distance?

Not at all! Our event is designed to educate the community on nonmelanoma skin cancer and measures that can be taken to keep your skin healthy while raising funds for an outstanding nonprofit organization, the American Cancer Society Rusell and Ann Gerdin Hope Lodge. We hope to provide a comforting but fun environment for everyone- whether you are recognizing individuals fighting any cancer diagnosis or wanting to get those steps in while supporting a great cause, we are grateful for those that can do any distance they are able. We greatly appreciate any amount of involvement and all that are able to attend or donate

Is there parking onsite?

There is a large parking lot on the premises next to the track where participants may park for free.

Is the track ADA accessible?

Yes, there is an entry around the rear of the facility allowing for a smooth and flat entry into the track and event location. Individuals of all abilities are welcome.

Where can I pick up my t-shirt?

T-shirts will be available for pickup at the event.

What is the event for?

The goal of our event is to raise awareness of nonmelanoma skin cancers. With skin cancer being the most diagnosed cancer in America and 1 in 5 Americans developing a skin cancer by the age of 70, it is important to educate our community on the risk of skin cancer development and preventative measures that can be taken.

Who does the event benefit?

All proceeds raised through the Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer Awareness Walk or Run will be donated to American Cancer Society Russell and Ann Gerdin Hope Lodge located in Iowa City, IA. The Hope Lodge supports many individuals from the Cedar Valley area on a regular basis.
