About the
Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer
Awareness Walk or Run

Join us for the very first Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer Walk or Run, organized by Cedar Valley ASCENT and Gentlecure. The event will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 10 a.m. to noon at Central Middle School’s track and field in Waterloo. We hope to provide a comforting but fun environment for everyone, so you do not have to walk or run a specific distance to participate!

All proceeds raised at the Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer Walk or Run will be donated to American Cancer Society Russell and Ann Gerdin Hope Lodge, located in Iowa City, Iowa.

Inside the Hope Lodge.

Family. Comfort. Peace.

The Hope Lodge program by the American Cancer Society offers cancer patients and their caregivers a comforting refuge, free of charge. The program goes beyond sheltering patients and caregivers but fosters a supportive environment where patients can find solace and assistance with accessing care. At every Hope Lodge community, individuals discover a warm atmosphere where they can engage in communal meals, participate in evening events, or relax in their personal quarters.
